International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

Prenatal / Postpartum Support

Breastfeeding confers numerous health benefits to both baby and mama, but is usually not as easy as depicted in pop culture. Unfortunately, there is no breastfeeding Bible and there is only so much that your individualized research can tell you; there is no one size fits all approach to breastfeeding. Ultimately, fed is best (coupled with mom’s sanity, of course!). I will work together with you to achieve your breastfeeding goals, whatever they may be. My passion is empowering moms throughout their journey to make them feel supported, educated, prepared, and confident.

Since the Coronavirus pandemic, virtual breastfeeding support is crucial now more than ever.

My practice is now remote so that I can accommodate my growing client-base. Meeting virtually began during the pandemic but it has proved to work very well for me and my clients.

SERVICES

Prenatal

Preparing for baby’s arrival made easy. Discussing what to expect during delivery and early postpartum days will lay the groundwork for a successful breastfeeding future. Also recommend baby gear and products (from personal and professional experience).

Immediate Postpartum

Following delivery, we discuss the newborn stage, breastfeeding positions (proper latch and positioning), how to tell if baby is getting enough milk, timing of feeds, diet & breastfeeding, feeding cues, answer any and all questions, etc. Evidence-based advice.

Postpartum

Whether you are preparing to go back to work or are just settling into your newborn routine, we discuss maintaining an adequate supply, feeding schedules, pumping, combo feeding, milk storage guidelines, sleep hygiene, introducing solids, etc.

Weighted Feeds

Sometimes all you need is a weighted feed to see how much breastmilk baby is transferring. By doing a pre- and post- feed wight with a specialized, highly accurate pediatric Marsden scale, we calculate how much milk your baby transferred and assess baby’s growth.

Testimonials

“Chantal is an incredible mentor and friend. After my son was born, I thought I’d be living in a post-partum bliss, but I was actually living in my darkest hour, sleeplessly writhing in anxiety over how to breastfeed. Not surprisingly, nothing I had read on the internet months leading up to my son’s birth was helpful. And the lactation consultants in the hospital I delivered in, as well as the nurses at my son’s pediatrician office helped me to no avail. On day three of his existence, Chantal helped me develop a breast-feeding plan that combined natural breast-feeding and pumping that was perfect for my and my baby’s lifestyle. I am proud to say that I breast fed for a full year, an achievement I will never say I accomplished by myself. I will forever be indebted and full of gratitude for Chantal, not only for her problem-solving skills and daily advice about how to trudge on, but for her unwavering friendship and support.”

-Elizabeth L., New York

“If it were not for Chantal and her knowledge and patience I wouldn’t have been able to breastfeed my daughter. She was always readily available to help and answer all my questions both virtually and in-person. Her dedication and calm approach made working with her an absolute pleasure. There is no praise worthy of how amazing she is. I am truly thankful that ten months later I am still nursing enjoying every minute.”

-Heather L., Florida

“Chantal came at a moment’s notice and right away put me at ease. I’m usually a very buttoned up, private person but felt very comfortable having her observe me nurse my son. She was just the right amount of hands on, gave me great pointers, set up my breast pump (not so self-explanatory) and helped me get all the accessories I would find myself needing. She went above and beyond following up multiple times to see how I was doing. Without her wealth of knowledge and support, my breastfeeding journey would not have been possible.”

-Ariella A., New York

“I worked with Chantal virtually from Los Angeles and it was the BEST decision I ever made. From giving birth to breastfeeding, she offers PRACTICAL and savvy advice and teaches you how to get it done and stress less. Not only is Chantal a registered nurse (so she KNOWS what she’s talking about) but her warmth makes you feel like you’re talking with an experienced best friend! It also helps that she’s successfully breastfed and raised her two daughters— she gives you actual lessons from her own experience. I cannot recommend her enough! Mamas, save yourself the frustration and anxiety... hire Chantal!”

-Diana S., California

“Chantal is the mother’s advocate and lactation consultant that every new mom and subsequent postpartum mom needs. How I wish that I had met Chantal after my firstborn but I was lucky enough to meet her after my second born. With my second, my milk struggled to fully come in and I was ready to quit after 3 tough weeks. I was referred to Chantal through a friend and Chantal was there with me every the step of the way to go from barely any production to having enough to feed my baby to now storing (a dream come true)! Chantal listens to the goals of the Mom and develops a plan in support of those goals - whether breast feeding, pumping, combo feeding, etc. Chantal is caring, empathetic, supportive and incredibly fast to respond to the millions of questions that I had. I truly couldn’t recommend anyone more highly … having Chantal as part of my postpartum support network has been a game changer for me.”

-Hilary M., California

“Where do I begin to thank Chantal?? I thought after my first child, I would never attempt to nurse again. But when I gave birth to my second child, Chantal was the sole reason I gave nursing a second chance and I am forever grateful! In the beginning, when it’s so easy to give up, Chantal patiently guided me through all my worries and doubts with a LOT of helpful and important advice. Any obstacles we’ve faced a long the way, Chantal has come to the rescue to reassure me that baby and I can do it! I am 7+ months postpartum and proud to say I am still nursing and LOVING every minute of it!”

-Raquel C., New York

“I remember the feeling in the hospital after our first baby was born, I looked around and all the other women seemed like they had this innate instinct and could easily nurse their babies. I could not. I tried a lactation consultant the hospital recommended. She was nice and handed me a nipple shield. She recommended always topping the baby off with formula. So there I was feeding my daughter hours on end and then giving her formula to finish the feed. I hated it. I made it to 3 months when I finally gave up and just went formula. I was happy. When our second daughter was born, I tried again, but quickly fell into the topping her off with formula, which quickly led to just formula. Our third baby was born in the midst of covid when numbers was high, quarantine was the norm, and trips to the pharmacy, supermarket, really anywhere even essentials were at an all time low. My approach always is healthy baby healthy mommy so I didn’t think much about the breastfeeding, I just wanted everything to go smoothly. When my daughter arrived, the midwife quickly passed her to me, and by some miracle she latched. This had not happened with my other girls before. I thought I had finally tapped into that innate instinct. Fast forward a few days and my breasts were completely engorged, the pain was excruciating, and I had a high fever. Chantal is a good friend of mine and every day I got a text asking how I was and if she could help. But I was on a high and I finally had the innate mom instinct and felt I could do it all. But thank Gd for mom’s and their real instincts, because my mom was there and knew I was at an all time low. She called Chantal and Chantal quickly called back on FaceTime. These were corona days and Chantal was already a pro on video calls. She checked out the red blotches, confirmed the mastitis, got me in the shower, doing all kind of breastfeeding positions I never in my life imagined, etc. and she saved me. I live in Tel Aviv and we have a 7 hour time difference, but Chantal always made me feel like she was right there. I thought I didn’t sleep, but when I saw her answer me at all hours, she does not sleep! And she didn’t leave me there. She constantly checked in. When I felt like I was exhausted and over it, she built up my confidence, and she totally got me through a full year of breastfeeding. I have a special connection with our third daughter. It was a beautiful bond I didn’t experience until her and really thanks to Chantal. Chantal taught me that I really did have that instinct all along and it’s okay to be guided towards it. She’s a next level lactation consultant. I recommend her to everyone even to friends here in Israel. My experience with Chantal over FaceTime was 100x better than anyone I had ever met with in person. I can’t even imagine how unreal she is in person. She is positive, fun, and just really knows everything. Thank you Chantal!!”
